Journey of Hope
Journey of Hope is a bicycle ride across the continental United States that is put on by Push America every summer. The event's purpose is to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities. The event includes daily visits with different centers for people with disabilities known as "friendship visits." Journey of hope started in 1987, and now has three different routes across the United States, Two beginning in San Fransico, and a third that starts in Seattle, all ending in Washington D.C.
This summer past summer Omega members Chris Ruff and Brandan Sowers participated in the Journey of Hope.
Next summer (2012), Omega members Peter Bassick, Eric Miller, Nick Eckstein, and Brett Poncsak have been accepted to ride in the 25th anniversary of the journey across the nation. Erik Moeller has been accepted to be a crew member for the ride across the nation.
Gear Up Florida
Gear Up Florida is a bike ride across the state of Florida that is put on by Push America every summer. Gear Up Florida is a smaller version of the Journey of Hope, chapters across the nation send members to ride over a period of two weeks in the summer.
